Dove, the beauty brand has been the subject of a social media outcry over a racist 3-second video it posted on its facebook page on Friday.
The video showed women of colour taking off their shirts to become white and this has sparked outrage all over the world as people are reminded of 19th century adverts that showed black women scrubbing their skin to become cleaner.
In response to this worldwide outrage, Dove has issued a public apology from their facebook page for any offence caused.
"An image we recently posted on Facebook missed the mark in representing women of color thoughtfully. We deeply regret the offense it caused" the statement from the beauty brand read.
