North Korea's foreign minister Ri Yong-ho has responded to U.S. President Trump's threat to totally destroy his country, calling it a "dog's bark" and stating that the Kim Jong-Un led government would not be deterred by Trump's comments.
Trump tagged the North's leader Kim Jong-un "rocket man" and said he was on a "suicide mission".
"There is a saying that marching goes on even when dogs bark," he said as he entered his hotel. "If they are trying to shock us with the sound of a dog's bark they are clearly having a dog dream."
When asked by reporters what he thought of Trump calling the North Korean leader "rocket man", Ri quipped, "I feel sorry for his aides."
The North Korea foreing ambassador is expected to address the United Nations General Assembly later on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has hinted that North Korea will not respond to negotiations as the UN continues to suggest.
