British firms profit from selling weapons to Saudi Arabia to fight War in Yemen

- Weapons sales to Saudi Arabia exceed $8bn.

- British government only benefit $40 million in corporate tax.

- These figures fall within the duration of the ongoing Yemen war.
According to a new report, British arms dealers have reaped hundreds of millions of dollars from the sales of arms to Saudi Arabia since the start of the ongoing war in Yemen.

The report fromWar Child (a Children's charity) indicates that since Saudi Arabia entered a coalition to intervene in the conflicts in Yemen in March 2015, British companies such as BAE systems and Raytheon have earned revenues exceeding $8bn from dealings with Saudi Arabia, generating profits estimated at almost $775m.

The UK government, however, has received just $40m of corporate tax, the report said.

"This tax revenue figure is pitifully small and comes at the cost of thousands of children who have been killed, injured, and starved by a conflict that this trade has helped sustain," the report said.
