Arsenal Football Club has launched a full review to determine the reason behind the crowd trouble experienced during the Europa League match with German side Cologne.

The Group H opener, in which Arsenal eventually ran out as 3-1 winners, was delayed by an hour as ticketless Cologne fans looked to gain entry to the ground.

Although Arsenal issued only 3000 tickets to Cologne supporters, around 20,000 of them reportedly made the trip from Germany to London.

As a result of the incident, five related arrests were made and Arsenal had to release a statement regarding the situation.

"Following last night's UEFA Europa League match with Cologne we would like to stress that fan safety was always our paramount concern and informed all decisions made,'' it read.

"We have launched a full review into the circumstances surrounding the game and will ensure any lessons that can be learned are used in the future."

When asked during the post match press conference if UEFA should take action, Wenger replied: "They are the only master to analyse the facts of what happened. They will certainly make an inquiry to see what happened, for sure."
