- Madrid have dropped points in their last two games without Ronaldo.
Real Madrid who have dropped points in their two league games at home this season without Cristiano Ronaldo would be breathing long sighs of relief today as their their star man returns in the Champions league.

Cristiano Ronaldo was issued a red card and a five game ban at the start of the season and he has currently served three games so far. It is fair to say he will be itching for the opportunity to start off his season in the Champions league.

Speaking at the prematch press conference, Real Madrid Goalkeeper Keylor Navas has expressed the club's delight to have their start player back.

"For us it is always good to have the best player in the world on the pitch," Navas said. "He always brings so much for us. It is good for him to be able to play tomorrow, as he has been a few games without playing. And also for us as a team. When he is on the pitch, normally he scores many goals. All games are different, but the motivation and ambition he has will be important for the team."

"In Liga we have not been able to win our last two games," the Costa Rica international said. "This is a nice game, a different tournament. We know that the path to trophies is not easy. There are always things we can correct, we know that, after every game we look at what we did well and what we did not. We will keep playing in our style, go out to win each game, we are very sure about that."

Madrid are clear favourites to finish top of their group as they mount a defence of the title they won for a second consecutive season earlier this year and also the third time in four years.
