- Aims to protect citizens from potential attacks from North Korea.

- Some residents protest the move by the government.
The recent nuclear test by North Korea and their continued show of military force in recent times has forced the hands of South Korea and their ally, The U.S. to deploy their Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) as a means of defence against potential attacks from the North.

Whilst this may be considered as a smart move by many, it has certainly not gone down well amongst some South Koreans.

A number of people in the South Korean village of Seongju have continued to protest against the government's deployment of a controversial anti-missile defence system, THAAD.
