I need more Man Utd Signings - Mourinho

- Mourinho needs more signings in his third summer transfer window to make United more competitive.

- Needs third season to close the gap between United and European giants.

- Praises the club's smart transfer business and timing this season.
Manchester United Manager Jose Mourinho has indicated that he needs more signings next summer to take Manchester United to the top of the premier league and close the gap on European giants.

Jose Mourinho who previously spent £150 million to bring in 4 players last season has spent a similar amount in bringing in three players this season. The United manager believes that he still needs a final transfer window to make the club more competitive and challenge on all fronts.

Mourinho's United have had an amazing start to the Premier League season and although he was openly interested in adding one more player to his squad, the club's interest in signing Ivan Perisic, Gareth Bale and Danny Rose all amounted to nothing before the close of the transfer window on August 31st.

"I have said three [summer] transfer windows is what I need to have the team I want to have -- the team [that] I think can bring Manchester United to the top of English football and to close the gap to the top of European football again -- and I still think we need that third transfer window, but I'm not going to wait for the third transfer window to try to reach it," he said.

Jose also praised United for being smart with their transfer business timing this season.

"We thought that something could happen that could change the market forever. Normally the last part of the market is less expensive, but this season, after Neymar, everything changed -- and changed for the worse in terms of prices.

"I think Lukaku on Aug. 31 would have been £150m. Matic would have been £60m or £70m. Neymar changed everything."
