Disappointing Transfer Window for Manchester City

- City failed to land Alexis Sanchez and other key signings.

- Still managed to spend a lot.
In a transfer window that saw the Premier League smash spending records, Manchester City would be returning to the drawing board to discuss how they fared in terms of conducting their business.

Although city managed to bring in a few players quite early, a lot of hope and effort was put into the potential transfers of Former Manchester United defender Johnny Evans and Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez and somehow for reasons yet unknown, both players failed to land at the club.

Whilst Evans would have provided some much needed stability to City's backline, Sanchez would have injected the squad with the level of pace and attacking quality that Guardiola has been dreaming about since he arrived at the club.

These two critical signings should have definitely ensured that Manchester City puts up a quality fight for the title this season and a failure to land these player raises more questions regarding the effectiveness of City's management and their overall ambition this season.
