BREAKING: Eid el Kabir set for September 1st - Sultan of Sokoto

- Moon has been sighted on Tuesday and the date has been set.

- Confirmation provided by Sultan of Sokoto.

Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, the Sultan of Sokoto has declared the 1st of September as Eid el Kabir day.

This declaration comes after the moon of Zulhijja was sighted on Tuesday night.

The Sultan through a statement by the Sokoto Sultanate Council has urged muslims across the country to continue to live in peace and pray for for development and progress
worldwide.

“The advisory committee in conjunction with the National Committee on Moon Sighting received various reports on moon sighting across the country confirming the sighting of the new moon of Zulhijja on Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2017,’’ the statement reads partly.
