Russia to Aid Nigeria in the Fight against Boko Haram

- Russia enters Military partnership with Nigeria and Niger.

- Move will enable joint training of troops and improve fight against piracy and terrorism.

The Russian Defence Ministry on Tuesday August 22nd announced that it had signed an agreement to partner with Nigeria and Niger in a miltary cooperation that should bolster Nigerian Forces in their fight against the Boko Haram Insurgency.

This new deal between Russia and Nigeria will enable Nigerian Military personell to receive training at Russian Military Education establishments.

According to Russian Defence Minister, Sergei Shoigu, this deal between the two countries will enable the joint training of troops, exchange of peacekeeping intel and experiences and further bolster both countries' fight against piracy and terrorism.
