Ronaldo Absent as Real Madrid defeats Barcelona 2-0 in Super Cup tie at Home

- Marco Asensio and Benzema score in this second leg fixture.

- Madrid show unusual class against arch rivals Barca.
In a match that most anticipated seeing a solid response from Barcelona in retaliation for the 3-1 defeat last week at Nou Camp, many have been left feeling gobsmacked as Madrid continued to express their dominance over Barca.

Goals from Asensio and Benzema ensured that there was no opportunity for a response from the away side making the total aggregate over both legs 5-1 in favour of Madrid.

The cup tie has exposed the lack of depth in the Barca side and this may just be the prompt they require to expedite their activities in the transfer market especially in their pursuit of Liverpool's Coutinho.

In a post match interview, Pique confessed that this is the first time he is feeling inferior to Madrid since he joined Barcelona.

Meanwhile Barcelona recently announced the signing of Paulinho from China in a move that should see their midfield options strengthened.
