In a move designed to further sanitise the atmosphere and environment around Lagos Island, the State Government has given an ultimatum to street traders and roadside mechanics demanding that they cease all trading activities no evacuate the area or face the full weight of the law.
The Lagos state government has consistently expressed its displeasure with the level with which environmental laws are constantly being abused by the above parties and this move is aimed at correcting this.
The special adviser to the Lagos state Governor on central business district, Mr Agboola Dabiri said that no amount of intimidation and pressure from miscreants would make the government rescind its decision on this matter.
