Do not let paralympians beg- Are urges FG

The Federal Government of Nigeria has been urged by the head coach of the Nigeria Para-Powerlifting Federation (NPPF), Feyisetan Are, to reward the victorious Rio Paralympians so as to stop them from begging.
The Nigerian team finished first on the medal table, of all the African teams which participated at the games; and 17th overall, out of 160 countries.
The team hauled a total of 12 medals: 8 Gold, 2 Silver and 2 Bronze.
Speaking on the laudable feat, Are said, ‘'What else can we ask other than for the government to reward these athletes well so as to stop them from begging.
‘‘What we achieved was by the grace of God and the teeth-gritted determination of the athletes. They gave their all to lift the image of the country. It is the turn of the country to honour them."
