IPOB Declares Sit-at-home on Sept 23

There is tension in Igboland on what Friday 23rd September, 2016 would be like following a declaration of a sit-at-home for non-initiates and protests the world over for the immediate release of Nnamdi Kanu by the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, IPOB.
As protests are ongoing in other countries, IPOB said Church services would hold in Biafraland and Nigeria by extension, even as it adds that every Biafran' man in Biafraland or Nigeria should stay at home in obedience to the order.
A statement signed by Comrade Emma Powerful, Media and Publicity Secretary of IPOB, insisted the protests will take place the world over to press home their demand for the immediate release of Kanu.
The statement reads in parts: 'The Directorate of State DOS and worldwide family members of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) have declared 23rd Sept, 2016 for Biafrans worldwide to protest against the continued detention of our leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and for the freedom of the Biafra people. The IPOB worldwide protest will take place in all the countries across the globe except in Biafraland and Nigeria where church services will be held.
"Every IPOB member and other Biafrans living in Nigeria and Biafraland will stay in their homes on that day.
"We also ask that all markets, schools, banks, transport companies and manufacturing companies to close on the same day in solidarity with the overall objectives of the Biafra restoration process, irrespective of your persuasion or affiliation.
"Again, we call on Okada riders, Keke drivers, bus drivers, luxurious bus owners and drivers, The Nine Loaders (911 drivers and Owners) the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) and National Association of Transport Owners (NATO) to withdraw their vehicles from the road on that day in solidarity with IPOB worldwide as we press for the release of our leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and for the total liberation of the Biafra people.
"We also advise every Biafran to switch off their communication devices, especially mobile phones on that day from 8am in the morning to 4pm in the evening in solidarity.
This will let the world know, including communication companies, that Biafrans are serious towards the release of their leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and the restoration of the ancient and sacred sovereignty of God's nation, Biafra."
