Ogun Governorship Election: Jimoh Ibrahim's campaign office attacked by political thugs

The campaign office of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship candidate in Ogun State, Jimoh Ibrahim, has been attacked by suspected political thugs.
Ibrahim is the candidate for the Sheriff-led faction of the party for the Ogun Governorship Election.
The office, which is located on Oyemekun Road, Akure, the state capital, had some parts of the building housing it destroyed by the suspected political hoodlums.
According to reports gathered, the attack is not unconnected with the factional crisis within the PDP which has led to the emergence of two candidates for the forthcoming Governorship election- Mr. Eyitayo Jegede (SAN) representing the Makarfi camp, and Jimoh Ibrahim for the Sheriff camp.
Reacting to the development, the Director of Publicity for the Jimoh Ibrahim Campaign Organisation, Mr. Sola Akinuli, condemned the attack, describing it as unfortunate.
He said, "It was much unexpected from any quarter that such a barbaric act should rear its ugly head in 2016 when we thought all acts of hooliganism have been thrown into the dustbin of history.
"We are, therefore, calling on security agencies to take over the matter in order to forestall future occurrences. On peace we stand; and that we plead for, from all quarters."
