UK Minister, James Wharton, scheduled to visit Nigeria soon

International Development, James Wharton, is scheduled to visit Nigeria soon.
The announcement was made on Thursday in a statement by the Press and Public Affairs Officer at the Commission, Joe Abuku.
He disclosed that Wharton, who would be visiting Nigeria for the first time since his assumption of office, would be received by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo.
During his scheduled three-day visit, Wharton would also meet with representatives of the Kaduna and Lagos State Governments.
According to the statement, upon his visit, Wharton would take time to discuss the security and humanitarian challenges in the North-East.
Ahead of his visit, the statement quoted Wharton as reiterating the UK's commitment to furthering its relationship with Nigeria.
Wharton said, " Nigeria's success truly matters to the UK and to Africa as a whole. As an outward-looking, globally-engaged nation, I want to deepen the broad range of support and assistance the UK provides Nigeria, including in health, education and economic reform.
"It is a tragedy that the conflict in the North-East of Nigeria has left millions of people in urgent need of shelter, protection, food and emergency health care. On this visit, I will be seeing for myself some of the humanitarian support from the British people going to those in such desperate need – helping to improve security and stability."
The UK Minister would also pay a visit to the Mile 12 Market in Lagos as well as Bridge Academy School to meet with its students.
