Herbalist Kills Brother While Testing Anti-Bullet Charm In Enugu


       The Enugu State Police Command is making frantic efforts to arrest one Ekene Oluka, a 26-year old man from Amagu Uwani,Mgboko Aku community in Igboetiti local government of the state, for allegedly killing a 13-year-old boy, while experimenting the efficacy of charms for protection against bullets and other sharp objects pre­ared for him by a herbalist.

According to the police, the 13 year old boy, named Obumuneme Oluka, was a close relation of Ekene Oluka, and both were living with their parents at Amagu Uwani community, before the ugly incident of Friday ,August 5 occurred.

On the ill-fated date, the suspect, who returned home from his herbalist, urged the deceased to stand out for him to test the efficacy of the magical powers he was given by the herbalist, who promised him that no amount of gun shots and sharp objects or any of such related weapons could harm him or penetrate his body whenever he was in possession of the charms.

As a mark of respect for his elder brother, the deceased accepted to be used for testing the effectiveness of the magical powers.

Sources claimed that the suspect initially fired shots on the deceased while he held the charms and the bullets were allegedly unable to penetrate into the teenager. Secondly, the suspect attempted to cut the boy with a machete, which also allegedly proved futile.

However, the charms allegedly failed when he hit the deceased with a bottle. The bottle reportedly shattered and inflicted serious injuries on the head of the boy.

According to the police, the suspect rushed the boy to a hospital for medical treatment but he was confirmed dead immediately they arrived in the hospital.

The Enugu State Police Command, ASP Ebere Amaraizu, confirmed the tragic incident. He said the body of the boy was deposited at the Attah Memorial Hospital mortuary, Aku, in Igbo Etiti Council Area. Meanwhile, the police has intensified its manhunt for the suspect and their parents,who fled their home because of the incident.
