Crowd As Jesus' Appears In Makurdi Catholic Church

Makurdi, the Benue State capital, last night went agog as thousands of people across different faiths thronged the Saint Augustine's Catholic Church, Nenger behind Government Model College, Makurdi to see a bright light that fell on the crucifix of Jesus Christ

Report gathered was that the image which portrayed a carbon copy of the statue of Jesus Christ when he rose from the dead after he was crucified and buried, had on its head a crown, while the entire body was glittering like gold.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN  many Christians and non-Christians alike on sighting the image which was accompanied by a bright light that overwhelmed the entire church, moved close to it and cast their hands on it praying "Jesus save me", "Jesus the son of God, have mercy on us".
One of the parishioners, Mr Emmanuel Hembenkaan, who spoke to Newsmen of his experience, said he was stunned when he saw the image.

He added that the image was seen in the church for the first time since the church was established.

When contacted, the Catholic Priest in charge of the church, Rev Father Celestine Tyowua declined comments, saying he would address the media after receiving approval from the Bishop of Makurdi Diocese, Wilfred Anagbe.

Thousand of worshipers besieged the arena offering prayers while some made frantic efforts to take photographs of the glowing crucifix.
