D'banj dumps GLO for MTN in surprise new deal

As you are reading this, one year after Dbanj's contract with Glo expired with renewal, the artiste has signed a shocking deal with rival telecoms company, MTN. D'banj announced his new deal with MTN in an Instagram post recently with the caption "Dreams come true". He added the hash tag #TheCreamPlatform.

"D'banj's contract with Globacom ended in October last year and after waiting for more than six months without any positive response from Otunba Adenuga, we began looking somewhere else," a source claimed.

He was still hopeful of a re-engagement by Adenuga and he challenged media report that he was an ex-Glo ambassador.
A source in D'banj's camp added, "We hold no grudge against anybody but MTN treats us better than Globacom. They have better package for the entertainment industry."

D'banj's manager, Franklin Amudo, explained the idea behind The Cream Platform in a Facebook post.
According to him, "The platform is to attend to the yearning desires of the underground creative talents in Nigeria. The Cream Platform will address whatever creative fix you have been in since. giving back has never felt so good.

"This is strictly for the creative industry (music, arts, fashion, showcase, talent management, legal, PR, promotions and marketing)."
The new project is supported by the Bank of Industry which signed D'banj as ambassador in May 2013.
The man known as Koko Master has concentrated more on business since he parted ways with his erstwhile business and creative partner, Don Jazzy, in 2012.

It will be recalled that D'banj resigned a multi-million naira deal with Globacom in November 2013 after they both parted ways in 2010. He secured a deal with Heritage Bank in June 2014, while he was named the official African ambassador for Beats by Dre in October of the same year.
In September 2015, D'banj was made the brand ambassador of SLOT, a popular mobile phone, and electronic gadget retail outfit.
