Suspected herdsmen kill 5 in Share, Kwara

Five farmers have been killed in Share, the headquarters of Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, by gunmen believed to be herdsmen .
The attack was confirmed by the State Police Public Relations Officer, Ajayi Okasanmi, who said the dead, who are from Tsaragi, were killed by suspected herdsmen while working on a farm at Share.
Share and Tsaragi share a common boundary, and both communities have been embroiled with one another over land disputes for years and have witnessed four clashes that resulted in wanton destruction of lives and property on both sides in recent times.
But Okasanmi dismissed any link of Share involvement in the attack, adding that residents of Share and Tsaragi have been living together in peace with the constant presence of security personnel.
He confirmed that five suspects have been arrested in connection with the killing and assured that the police will soon get to the root of the matter.
A curfew has been imposed on both communities by the State Government,  to guard against the breakdown of law and order.
