There are no plans to impeach me- Yari

Zamfara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulaziz Yari, has denied claims of impeachment plans by the State House of Assembly against him.
Speaking with State House correspondents shortly after presiding over a meeting of the Nigerian Governors' Forum at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Thursday, the Governor stated that he was still very much in charge of the machinery of Government in his state, and claimed that the leadership of the Assembly had even denied the alleged move to impeach him.
He claimed that although anyone can be hurt under democracy, the state is at peace.
In his words: "Even the Assembly says there is no such (impeachment) move and that there was a misunderstanding. But you know it is democracy we are practising and everyone can be hurt. We are peaceful."
According to media reports, some Zamfara Lawmakers have been arrested and detained by operatives of the Department of State Services, DSS, in connection with the alleged impeachment plot.
Those reportedly detained  are the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Sanusi Rikiji; the Deputy Speaker, Muhammad Gumi; the Majority Leader, Isah Abdulmumini; and the Chief Whip, Abdullahi Dansadau.
They are currently being detained in Abuja.
The Zamfara State House of Assembly has issued a statement describing the arrest as a clear interference in the functions of the legislature.
The statement called for the unconditional release of the Lawmakers, and urged President Muhammadu Buhari to caution the DSS against further interference in the matter.
The lawmakers also listed six impeachable offenses committed by Governor Yari.
