Theresa May set to become new British PM as Cameron steps down on Wednesday

British Home Secretary, Theresa May, the only remaining candidate in the Conservative Leadership race, is set to become the next Prime Minister and Tory leader; as David Cameron announced that he would resign on Wednesday.
As a result, the planned vote of the party's 150,000 members will not take place.
This development comes as May's Conservative rival, Andrea Leadsom, made the decision to exit the race.
She withdrew after a weekend uproar over comments she made suggesting that being a mother would be an advantage in the job.
According to Leadsom, her decision to quit the race was informed by the fact that she did not believe she had sufficient support within the party to forge ahead.
Before Mr Cameron can resign, he will see the Queen to tender his resignation, and advise her to call for the person she thinks is best placed to command the confidence of the House of Commons.
Making his announcement at a press conference, Mr Cameron said it is clear Theresa May has ‘the overwhelming support' of Conservative Lawmakers.
