Chaka Khan checks into rehab for prescription drugs addiction

63 year old songstress, Chaka Khan, has canceled her upcoming performance at the California State Fair, and checked herself into a rehab program to fight her addiction to prescription drugs.
In a statement released to the Associated Press, the 10-time Grammy winner explained that she had made the decision, following the death of Prince, who was her longtime friend.
Khan revealed that she has been hooked on fentanyl, the same painkiller that the Purple Rain singer overdosed on in April.
In her statement on Sunday, the Ain't Nobody hitmaker said: "Unfortunately, I will miss concert appearances over the summer.
"However, it's vital that I put my health and well-being first. I know that I am disappointing some of my fans, but I also know they would want me to recover and be well and healthy."
She also revealed she is seeking treatment with her sister Yvonne Stevens.
"We agreed we would take this journey together and support each other through the recovery.
"The tragic death of Prince has had us both rethinking and reevaluating our lives and priorities. We knew it was time to take action to save our lives. My sister and I would like to thank everyone for their support, love and prayers."
