IPOB elders disown alliance with NDA

The Supreme Council of Elders of Indigenous People of Biafra, SCIPOB, a body associated with the Pro-Biafran group, has distanced itself from any alliance with militant group, Niger Delta Avengers.
SCIPOB insists that those who preach violence might be infants or not born during the 1967-1970 Nigeria-Biafra civil war.
While reacting to claims by some IPOB members and Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, that the groups were aligning with the NDA and other militants in the Niger Delta for a united front, SCIPOB's Deputy Chairman, Dr. Dozie Ikedife, said there was no such thing as an alliance of IPOB with any group.
Ikedife, a former President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, while speaking with reporters at Nnewi, added that as a man who saw the Biafra war from beginning to the end and witnessed how millions of people were slaughtered and property worth billions of naira destroyed because of the struggle for self- determination, he would never support any violence.
According to Ikedife, no right-minded individual would consider a repeat of the harrowing 30-month genocidal war which inflicted pains and sorrows on almost every family in Biafra land.
