Herdsmen kill 3 in Ogun, steal Esusu funds

Suspected Fulani herdsmen have reportedly attacked Ilewo-Orile community in Ogun State and murdered three persons.

The incident which happened last weekend .

A reliable source in the community who pleaded not to be named revealed that recalled that the community witnessed similar attacks by rampaging Fulani herdsmen in recent times.

Two of the victims of the at­tack, according to the source, include Amosun Ogunronbi and Owolabi Ogunronbi who were said to be broth­ers while the third victim was simply known as Philip.

"Philip was killed on Fri­day night after suspected herdsmen accosted him and snatched his motorcycle, mo­bile phone and some money.

"Philip is an Egun man. He went to work on Friday but didn't return. When his wife was going to the market in Ibara-Orile at the weekend, she saw the dead body of her husband by the road side," he said.

However, the case has been reported at the Lafenwa Po­lice Station, Abeokuta and at the state police headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta.

The source further ex­plained that the murder of Ogunronbi occurred prior to the Friday incident, saying that the suspects carted away the victims' motorcycle and cash.

According to him: "Amo­sun went to collect some thrift savings in Ishaga-Orile and he asked his brother (Owolabi) to convey him there with his motorcycle.

"When they were com­ing back, Fulani herdsmen attacked them at about 8:30p.m. They hacked them to death.

"Some commercial motor­cyclists who passed by later saw Amosun's lifeless body by the road side and the raised the alarm."
