Army in fierce battle with Boko Haram in Borno

Troops of the Nigerian Army Monday engaged the Boko Haram terrorist group in a fierce gun battle in the northern fringe of Borno State.
The number of casualties from the encounter was however not known as at the time of filing this report.

The Army Spokesman, Col Sani Usman, disclosed this in his facebook page Monday morning.
In the facebook message, the Army Spokesman said: "Please be informed that our troops are currently engaged in fierce battle with Boko Haram terrorists at Kareto, Northern Borno State."

He, however, promised to provide more details, but up to the time of filing this report, the update was yet to come.

It would be recalled that the Boko Haram terrorists group suffered severely in the hands of the army troops in the north east following disclosures by the Army last weekend that it seized a large cache of arms and ammunitions after taking over Boko Haram's underground armoury and also discovered an underground food bunker in Biggoro, Warpaya and Aura, North of Kumshe in Bama Local Government Area of the state.
