FRSC apprehends 81 traffic offenders during Easter patrols


 No fewer than 81 motorist was apprehended by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Onitsha on Wednesday for various offences during the Easter Special Patrol.

The Unit Commander of FRSC in Onitsha, Mr Paulinus Akpotobo, stated this in an interview with newsmen.
According to him, the special patrol which commenced on March 24 ended on March 30.

"We have been on Easter special patrol which terminated on Wednesday March 30. There was free flow of traffic and no accident was recorded during the period.
However, 81 motorists were apprehended for violations like overloading, non-use of seat belts and use of phones while driving", Akpotobo said.

The Unit Commander assured that FRSC will ensure constant presence on the roads even after the Easter period.
"Motorists should shun drinking while driving, over-speeding and violation of lane and obey the instructions of the regular and special marshals on the roads", Akpotobo advised motorists. (NAN)
