Collapsed Building: six confirmed dead in Lagos

An official of National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Ibrahim Farinloye has confirmed the death of  Six persons as a five-storey building under construction collapsed in the early hour of Tuesday  Lekki area of Lagos state.
 
The General Manager of the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority, LASEMA,Mr. Michael Akindele confirmed that rescue workers were trying to pull out more people from the rubble of the collapsed building in the Lekki district, which has some of the most expensive real estate in the city.
 
"We still hear cries and voices from the rubble indicating that some people are still trapped," Farinloye said, adding the cause of the collapse was not yet determined.

Rescue operation is being conducted by responders such as; National Emergency management Authority, NEMA, LASEMA, Lagos State Fire Service, Rapid Response Squad, RRS, Civil Defence Corp, Merchant Navy and members of the state police command.
