Arsenal signs Nigerian youth player Kelechi Nwakali for 2million

Nigerian talent Kelechi Nwakali has sealed a move to Arsenal on a five-year deal, according to his agent.

The 17-year-old was reportedly in London last month after Arsenal agreed a 3 million fee with Nigeria's Diamond Football Academy, and Nwakali's agent has now confirmed the deal is done,

According to a report by Sports Day "Kelechi has signed a five-year deal with Arsenal. I won't be able to mention the exact transfer fee but it is above 2 million."

The report added that Bayern Munich and Manchester City were also in for the midfielder, who was crowned player of the tournament as Nigeria triumphed at the 2015 FIFA U17 World Cup in Chile.

Nwakali looks to have the potential to develop into a top-class box-to-box midfielder as he can contribute both in defence and attack.

Nwakali also made the declaration on Sunday, February, 28  at St. Mark's Anglican Church, Eziobodo in Imo State during a thanksgiving service.

According to his agent, the five-year-deal will be activated when the midfielder clocks 18 in the summer.

"Kelechi has signed a five-year deal with Arsenal. I won't be able to mention the exact transfer fee but it is above two million pounds," the report quotes his agent as saying.

Nwakali and another member of the Golden Eaglets World Cup winning squad, Samuel Chukwueze held trails at Arsenal.
