We've human abattoirs, sell parts for N30,000 suspect

A 50-year-old suspected ritualist, Mr Kamoru Oladele, Monday confessed that he usually buys human head for N10,000 and would use same to prepare fortune charms for his clients at the rate of N25,000.
He made the confession when he was paraded before newsmen by the Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Mr Leye Oyebade. He was one of the 13 suspects paraded by the police at Eleyele, Ibadan, on allegations of armed robbery and unlawful possession of arms and ammunition.
Items said to have been recovered from Oladele included a smoked human head that looks like the one of an Albino.

Oladele told newsmen, "I am a herbalist and I do fortune charms for people. I am not the one that usually sells human parts. I buy from some people. This is my first time of engaging in this kind of business. I usually buy the human skull for N10,000 and sell it for N25,000 for those that come for fortune charms."

The police boss stated that it took the police two weeks of intensive investigation before the suspected leader of the ritualists' syndicate, Oladele was arrested during an alleged negotiation to sell fresh human head for N30,000.

"When his house was searched, one smoked human skull was recovered. The suspects who engaged in this terrible business had clients from different parts of the country. These clients used the human parts for different purposes, including rituals. "During interrogation, it was revealed that the gang had esoteric slangs or expressions for different human parts. Such slangs were known only to the initiates. For instance, human head, which was sold for N30,000 is called agbon' (coconut).

"The gang had its killer squad, which helped to hunt for victims, who were eventually killed in cold blood and dismembered for sale. The unlucky victims are those that may have been declared missing by their relations.
"The leader of the deadly syndicate, who confessed to the crime, also disclosed that their evil trade was carried out in their human abattoirs located at Amuloko in Ibadan and Kuta village in Osun State."
