Buhari Steps Down, Set To Appoint New Minister Of Petroleum


President Muhammadu Buhari, who until now doubled as a minister, has decided to appoint another Minister for Petroleum to oversee the oil and gas sectors. This was part of the discussions at the sidelines of the Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) in Johannesburg, South
Africa.
The Name(s) of the Nominee is expected to be forwarded to the Senate for confirmation next week just before Christmas.
The new minister will be expected to concentrate on gas industry and ensure that the government’s revenue from gas is shore-up to complement the dwindling revenue from crude oil.
Also Nigeria and Angola on have agreed to cooperate and also reach out to other oil producing countries in an effort to shore up the dwindling price of oil in the global market.
